Carlsbad ranks as one of the top three submarkets in San Diego county for tenants seeking space at favorable rents and terms, reports commercial brokerage firm JLL (formerly Jones Lang LaSalle).

Carlsbad is well-positioned with a high capacity to absorb and support business growth, particularly in high-tech industries.  This is largely due to three factors for which Carlsbad outperforms the region—low unemployment rates, available space in office and industrial real estate and an educated, talented workforce.

In May 2014, the San Diego county average unemployment rate hovered at 5.8%, while Carlsbad maintained a rate at 4.2%, well below the national average of 6.3%.  With more than 18 million square feet of office and industrial real estate, Carlsbad offers plenty of space for high-tech businesses to develop and expand.
