Interested in what projects are being developed around the city? Investment in Carlsbad has great momentum and new, innovative development projects are expected to continue. Significant projects such as the Westfield Carlsbad (Now Shoppes at Carlsbad) renovation are currently under construction with Phase 1 being completed at the end of 2014. This includes a new 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport which opened in late October and a new Luxury Regal theater scheduled to be finished towards the end of November. Other large development projects include La Costa Towne Square and the Carlsbad Desalination Plant. Residential construction is also underway including the development of new single family homes in La Costa and new town homes on State Street in Carlsbad Village.
