Carlsbad Offers a Great Environment for Startups

SW_140514_press tour_183Low cost and high opportunity make San Diego a “sweet spot” for startups.  The finding comes from a recent report released by commercial real estate brokerage, Jones Lang LaSalle.  Carlsbad in particular is a great environment for individuals looking to test their innovations and bring new products and ideas to market. The city recognized this early by partnering with the startup community and investing in its own life sciences incubator, Bio, Tech & Beyond which opened nearly three years ago.

 

The city’s commitment to growing startups isn’t the only asset that makes Carlsbad a great place to grow a tech business. With more than 13.5 million square feet of industrial space and vacancy rates at 11%, there’s ample supply of affordable property for startups to enter the market.  Venture capital investment and a culture of collaboration in the business community also set Carlsbad apart as a great place for startup tech businesses.  As a place where startups are connected with the financial capital and other resources that are critical to their success, Carlsbad makes a great place for startups.
