Explore Carlsbad’s Creative Side at the 2nd Annual Crafter’s Showcase

November 28, 2018

Creativity and innovation in Carlsbad isn’t limited to our life sciences, action sports, clean tech and information & communications technology companies. This same spirit and culture can also be found in the small businesses, artists, makers and vendors right in the heart of our historic downtown Carlsbad Village.

Experience the creative side of Carlsbad at the 2nd Annual Crafter’s Showcase hosted by the Carlsbad Village Association.  On Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., over 50 local artisans will be on display on Roosevelt Street (between Carlsbad Village Drive and Grand Avenue) for an open-air makers market.

This year’s Crafter’s Showcase will include everything from woodworking to artisan food to succulents to 3D functional art.  With over 25 new and first-time vendors showing off their crafts, there’s really something for everyone at this year’s showcase.

“Due to the popularity of this event, we are excited to have quite a few new vendors with us in new craft categories,” said Christine Davis, Program Manager for the Carlsbad Village Association.

“With a holiday theme to the event, this will be an excellent opportunity to get some gift shopping done well in advance of the upcoming holiday. We even have a gift wrapping booth on site to help complete your holiday shopping. There is plenty of nearby dining and wonderful shopping as well, so we hope people will come and enjoy a full day in the Village,” Davis said.

Visitors will be treated to live music throughout the day and carolers to kick off the holiday season right. Glass blowers and handmade pottery demonstrations will give you a glimpse into the incredible talent of local artists.

Come out and learn more about a different community of Carlsbad creators and innovators this Saturday. The showcase will be fun for the whole family and a great way to start the holiday season.
