Be Part of the Village and Barrio Master Planning Efforts

The City of Carlsbad and urban consulting experts Dover, Kohl & Partners have dedicated the last two weeks to getting input from the community about the Village & Barrio Master Plan. These meetings included hands on design sessions, studio and technical meetings, and forums such as the Barrio Fiesta where community members shared ideas about a future for the Village & Barrio areas.

This exciting collaboration is a great example of the city’s commitment to partnering with the community to co-create a vision to revitalize the Village & Barrio. On September 18, Dover, Kohl & Partners and the City hosted a Village and Barrio Plan Meeting to summarize the findings from earlier brainstorming sessions. Attendees were able to get a sneak peak of the various design options and alternatives.  Ninety percent of attendees responded that they thought the plan was headed in the right direction.
